Aren't we all... just the flavour of the week

American Hi-Fi - Flavor Of The Weak
She paints her nails and she don't know,
He's got her best friend on the phone.
She'll wash her hair, his dirty clothes,
Or all he gives to her.
And he's got posters on the wall
Of all the girls he wished she was.
And he means everything to her.

Her boyfriend,
He don't know
Anything
About her.
He's too stoned,
Nintendo.
I wish that I could make her see,
She's just the flavor of the weak.

It's Friday night and she's all alone,
He's a million miles away.
She's dressed to kill, but the TV's on,
He's connected to the sound.
And he's got pictures on the wall
Of all the girls he's loved before,
And she knows all his favorite songs.

Her boyfriend,
He don't know
Anything
About her.
He's too stoned,
Nintendo.
I wish that I could make her see,
She's just the flavor of the weak.
Yeah.

Her boyfriend,
He don't know
Anything
About her.
He's too stoned,
He's too stoned,
He's too stoned,
He's too stoned.

Her boyfriend,
He don't know
Anything
About her.
He's too stoned,
Nintendo.
I wish that I could make her see,
She's just the flavor of the weak.
Yeah she's the flavor of the weak.
She makes me weak.

The Political Break Down

So I heard that some of the teachers at our school were disappointed in the attendence of senior students at the political assembly held last week. Personally i was one of many who ditched the assembly to work on some homework.
But when  I heard teachers were dissapointed I was a little confused. We're senior students, we have work to do in order to impress universities and we dont really have time between a part-time job, homework and extra ciriculars to take time out to listen to a bunch of politicians.
And when I was in the guidance office I listen to a teacher tell a student why they should not vote conservative just because their parents did.

Well what I would like to know is who else are we supose to vote for. The Liberals who are allianced with the Quebec political party who only represent one province? And that weird Micheal guy who looks really creepy on TV and hasn't even been in Canada the last 10 years?! Plus Steve Clark is asking us for his vote. How do we expect him to run a riding when he can't even run a restaurant with decent service!?
Or how about the green party who has been promoting their green views, but guess what we are still paying insane amounts of tax and all they are worried about is the environmet!
And the NDP, all they want to do is eliminate the middle class and then help the upper and lower class maintain their life styles.
And the conservatives take OUR tax dollars and spend them on decorations for the G8 and G20.

So who's left!?
Who do we vote for?
Who do we let run our country?
Who do we let waste our tax dollars?
Because if anyone knows the answer to that I would love to hear what we are supose to be doing so that we arent up to our ears in debt.

Love is in the air.....

PDA - Public display of affection.
When used appropriately it can be cute and make people a little jealous that they aren't in love like the two of you clearly are.

My problem with PDA is a big one. I do NOT want to see you and whats his name make out in the hall. I do NOT want to see tongue or you grab her butt. I do NOT want to have a mental image about what you SHOULD be doing in the privacy of a room.

People now a days think that it is ok to make other uncomfortable by doing things in public that should not be done in public. I understand you love each other and are happy that you're so in love but for the sanity of the rest of the world please stop it.

I dont want to see you making out with someone and you dont want to see me doing it. So why do people do it?

To prove to the world that you are indeed a couple?
To make yourself sure that everyone knows you are together?
And is this because you are not confident in your partner?
or yourself?.

Personally I think if otrhers can't be around you and that special someone because you are acting so coupley there is something odd about your relationship. If you can't be friends how can you be more than friends?

Just a thought, anyone agree or disagree?

I Choose

the act or an instance of selecting. CHOICES. We makes choices everyday of our lives, what to wear, what to eat, who to talk to, where to go etc. We have little choices like between cheese or hawaiian pizza and big choices like who do I live with after the divorse? or which university do I apply to?

Choices can come and go, others haunt us until we die or correct them, we make them every day and I would like to ask a question about choices.

Who gives you the right to make choices for other people?

When you're little, your parents decide what you wear and what you eat and what you do. The government controls things you can do such as driving, loitering, and drinking. Your morals control what your opinions are and how you act upon situations in real life.

But when it comes to topics such as divorse, such as abortion, or even war who gets to decide?

Although I have my opinions, and I believe certain things, I have come to realize that I have no right to make choices for other people. How can i support anti abortion laws when I have never been in the situation where I could need one? How can I frown upon divorse when I come from a home with a biological mother and father? How can debate war when I didn't know anyone that died in 9/11.

I guess what I am trying to say is that we all come from different places, we all have different knowledge bases but we are all still people, we all have feelings and we all have passions. Just because you feel strongly about something doesnt mean you're right, but it doesnt mean you're wrong. Maybe your decision is good for you and your beliefs, but it may not be right for everyone else. So the next time you feel that your beliefs are right maybe stop and think about if they would be right for the majority of people, maybe they aren't and if not don't pressure them on other people.

For we make choices everyday, sometime there wrong and sometimes there right, it makes people strong to cope with the bad choices and turn them into positive expierences.

So mess up and fix it, make better choices in the future, learn from every bad expierence and make it a good one and never makes choices for other people      because if it happens to be a bad one it may be harder to fix if it does not just affect yourself.

Blah Blah Blah

Between Facebook , Twitter, and Texting. We have created the empire that is known as Social Networking. In past years there was no such thing as e-mail or facebook, yet in todays society it is critical to keeping in touch and even in places of education (considering I am blogging for a grade here). The digital revolution afffects us all and in different ways. For instance, years ago when a boy wanted to ask a girl on a date he would go up to her and ask; while now a days a guy would text her and ask. We eliminate the face to face interaction replacing it with a blackberry.
Those heart to hearts that used to take place when consoling a friend, now happen over facebook when you see the sad tweets that they had posted. To get in touch with your dad who's at a business meeting in Denver you log in to Skype and face chat; when you use to send a letter or pay a very pricey long distance call. Social networking does a great job of keeping us in touch with our friends and loved ones who cant be with us all the time but is the price we are paying really worth it?
No one ever asks the question "what is wrong with social networking" because we all love it so much, so how could there possibly be a flaw?
Well the truth is, as great as social networking is we are creating a youth that is literally addicted to it. There are people who tweet over 100 times a day, some who update there status to "walking the dog" and "going pee" and the problem with this is we are teaching our youth that it is ok to ignore the reality unfolding before us and tweet about it instead. Imagine going skydiving and facebooking - you update your status to "Skydiving OMG" and you take a quick picture and make it your display picture and by the time you finish you realize - crap I should probably pull my shoot before I hit the ground. And splat your dead. Obviously thats a crazy highly unlikely situation but I have seen some pretty accurate ones occur, for instance watch some of the videos 7 commercials. Getting hit with a baseball, not noticing your wife in a cute outfit and falling while running. I am not saying I do not use facebook or text, but should we really spend all of our time trying to let everyone be in the know to the point where we are unable to get off the moving path at the airport? Maybe I am overlooking the purpose and taking into account the extreme situations. But I did just spend 20 minutes setting up this blog so that someone would read it, didn't I.
